Educators as Reflective Decision Makers

Welcome to STEA! The Student Tennessee Education Association provides its members with a wide variety of opportunities to grow, to explore, and to be advocates for public education and the students of that education. As preservice educators, we are spokespersons for future educators. We must ask of ourselves what we would ask of our students--nothing but the best! It is only by working together that we can improve education and teaching environments.
email Dr. Jim Calder for more information

The Student Tennessee Education Association (STEA) is a pre-professional organization for students who are preparing to be educators in any of the institutions of higher education in the state of Tennessee. STEA exists to help you make a smooth transition from the campus to the classroom--to give you the edge as a teacher in those very important first years.

The Student Program...

IMPROVES TEACHER EDUCATION. NEA/TEA student members serve on accrediation teams which evaluate teacher education preparation programs nationwide.

SUPPLEMENTS YOUR EDUCATION. Student members may participate in TEA/NEA workshops and conferences that enhance their formal education.

WORKS TO IMPROVE EDUCATION. Student members recognize the importance of a quality education system to the future of our country. We work to protect and improve America's future.
